Ebooks are becoming more and more prevailant those days especially with the advancement of tablet market. There are many ways to download free books online. Today we'll explain where to download a book.
1) Books with expired copyright
Many books that were written long time ago have expired copy right and may be spread and downloaded legally and freely. Prject Guttenberg (http://www.gutenberg.org) digitalized thousands of such books and offers them a place where you can download a different formats of books.
2) Books offered to download freely by the author or publisher
Many novels and short stories are offered for free download on the internet in the hopes that a reader will be intrigued to buy it or other books by same author later. A good place to search for such book downloads is http://www.freesfonline.de/ or sites of book publishers. There are many others easily found by any search engine (google is the best off course :-) , where else you can find good books? for example:
http://smallbeerpress.com/creative-commons/ - some good SF books download for free.
http://www.infinityplus.co.uk/ - download science fiction, fantasy, horror and crime ebooks for Kindle, Nook and other e-readers.
http://www.books.google.com/ - not so good but can be used to see example of books.
3) IRC
Some books can be freely downloaded in IRC channels. Please be carefull not to download illegal book content or viruses as not all of them are dependable. you can use many clients to participate in IRC networks, the most popular being mIRC (http://www.mirc.com/get.html).
Undernet network, bookz channel - a good channel to search for books.
4) File sharing
You can also look for books to download on torrents and other file sharing software. Again please be carefull of viruses and illegal content download.
Please be aware that I don't support online piracy. Anything you download needs to be checked by yourself to be legal. Ilegal book downloads hurt the authors.
